We all know how important it is to feel energetic and healthy in the morning. So follow our tips.
1. Sleep well.
If you didn’t sleep well at night, then you won’t be feeling great in the morning. Most adults need around 7 to 9 hours of sleep at night. So make sure you sleep early and get a good night’s sleep.
2. Don’t stand up suddenly upon waking up.
I have encountered many accidents because of this. If you stand up quickly, you might get dizzy, fall and lose consciousness. Upon waking, make it a point to do things very slowly and deliberately.
3. Gently stretch your arms, legs and neck.
Make sure your body is fully awake before you sit down and take your first step. Stretching gets your blood flowing and makes you more alert. If you’re young, you won’t understand my tips, but as you get older, you will see how important this is.
4. If you’re going to the bathroom, urinate while sitting down.
Especially for older males, you can take a pee while sitting. There is such a thing as “micturition syncope” which means some people lose consciousness as they start to pee. It’s a reflex action. Be careful you don’t fall and hit your head.
5. Drink one to two glasses of water.
Drinking water first thing in the morning hydrates your body, which may have been dehydrated at night. That is why our urine is yellowish in color in the morning, a sign of mild dehydration. Water also helps in your digestion and may flush toxins from the liver. Water boosts your energy too.
6. Eat a healthy breakfast.
Don’t skip breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast will give you the energy you need to work and study. Eat a well-balanced meal with protein and healthy carbohydrates.
7. Wash your face with soap and water.
This will help you avoid pimples and skin oiliness. Cold water also wakes you up.
8. Brush your teeth.
Healthy teeth and gums are essential to grooming and good health. Brushing removes bad breath.
9. Move your body.
Find a way to some stretching and light exercise in the morning. A brisk walk improves brain circulation and alertness.
10. Read inspirational quotes.
Refresh your mind with words of wisdom and positivity. This will make sure you start the day with the right attitude.
11. Be thankful for this day.
Take some time to appreciate the blessings in your life. Family, friends and things you enjoy.
Finally, as you begin your day, share positive words and energy to the people around you. Have a great day.
